4 common sense ways to help our environment

save the environment

There are clubs and classes focused on various social problems, and such places teach pupils how they can change these issues. One popular cause that’s been popular lately is that helping the environment and preserving our resources.

Plastic bags

Plastic grocery bags that have been thrown out end up in landfills or different areas of the environment. These may suffocate creatures who get trapped in them because they mistake them for food. It takes some time for the bags to decompose. Whether you’re searching for food, clothing or books, use a reusable bag. This cuts down on clutter and prevents animals from getting a hold of them. There are even some shops (like Target) offering discounts for using reusable bags!

Printing only as necessary

We have all had that teacher that wanted us to have a copy of every book once we come to class or professor who wanted a hard copy of a ten-page paper that’s due next week. These are fine, but it sounds as though they don’t understand that using so much paper is damaging to the environment.

Conserve Water

Water is wasted more often than we know. Turn off the faucet as you’re brushing your teeth. Do not turn your shower on till you are ready to get in. Limit your water use as you wash dishes.

Prevent taking cars – carpool when possible

Cars are bad for the environment. Taking public transport, walking, or riding a bicycle to class are better choices that help the environment and your budget, in addition to getting in some exercise!
